So for building the workbench, you opened the inventory and saw the crafting windows on the left screen, right?
You see now when you are near the workbench, you will be able to craft more things but the same way! It's not like other sandbox games where you have to open a separate interface, you just need to be near the crafting station.

This is how terraria works, you can use many different crafting stations at the same time this way as long as they are nearby.

So, now sure how to make a wall on "both sides" per se. There's the bunny things always hopping in and i'm building the wall but now sure how to build it in a way where they can't enter? If that makes sense. I understand this game is a slider game and not meant to be "3d" but is htere a way to make the house where nothing can enter but you?

Those "bunny things" are actually slimes cutely dressed for Halloween. When you are near the workbench you will see you will be able to craft a door, which you can close and open. This will stop them from entering. Now only place a little roof and you are good to go.

You can, similarly to minecraft, use blocks to build yourself up or mine a way up. You can also use platforms and later you will get an item called "Rope" which will let you travel through those vertical spaces very fast.

It's just wood! Placed down that is.

To show you something really neat, when you talk to Jeff he will offer a crafting help prompt. Giving him a piece of wood will show you everything you can craft with wood!
You can also press on the little hammer below the blue square to see all recipes at once.

When you speak to him (right click him) he will offer multiple options.
Help, Talk, Crafting and Happiness.
When you press on crafting you will notice your inventory automatically opens.
Near your crafting window will now be a new blue square (empty slot) where you can put any material item in.

And then you can press on that little hammer right above that square to see all of them at once.

It will definitely help! The wooden sword is in the category of broadsword and will swing instead of stab.

Also, since you are building your first house, you can use the housing tab to see if it's a good enough house for the guide for example.

Terraria has lots of different people that can move into houses, but most of them will need a house to live in.

You can check if he likes the house by opening your inventory (esc) and at the right side you will see a little house icon, pressing on it will change the tab to the housing tab. There you can use the question mark tool to see if the house is suitable or if something is missing.

And both actually!
Stone can be found pretty much anywhere you are looking for, sometimes even in the sky. But the deeper you go the more everything will be stone.

In minecraft you can get wool using string from spiders/cobwebs or using a sheep. But in terraria there is no sheep, so I do sure wonder where you can maybe get the silk/wool.

BTW you shouldn't need too many potions, I'd personally recommend frost armor and the onyx blaster. dart pistol/rifle and daedalus stormbow also works pretty well

The language barrier really is hitting uhh

Essentially for NPCs (if you mean Town NPCs) you will need to build houses and meet their requirements for them to move in. The first few NPCs one will encounter are usually:

• The guide (no requirements)
• The merchant (at least 50 silver coins)
• The nurse (Have a life crystal)
• The demolitionist (Have a bomb)

All of them will require a house, which can just be a box with a chair, a table and a torch. This is an example:

if you want the demo to stay alive then make at least two houses, because when the demo dies the guide might snipe his house
not sure if you have to buy a bomb for spawn reqs but do it to be safe

or, since its halloween terraria use pumpkin gear

if you really want you can rush sky islands for stronger wood instead of surface evil, i do not suggest it because you get to deal with harpies as well as the regular evil enemies

Bananarang remains relevant at this stage as well, light disc too, gungnir if you want more range.

Get a flask of ichor if you can, along with every buff available at this point, and make a large arena with the usual (campfire, heart lanterns, sunflower where they won't block you), then set a bed at that arena.

Copper or Tin
Iron or Lead
Tungesten or Silver
Gold or Platinum

Your world therefore will only have gold, not any platinum. But most recipes you can do with platinum can also be done with gold.
