is there a way to better support an HD resource pack in Terraria? Everything looks fine normally but anything that rotates is getting distorted(because Terraria by default is 2x so it scales better). For example I found slopes are actually just rotating the normal tiles and they're getting pretty distorted.

It really depends on you, I have thousands of hours in vanilla but not so much in modded. Although there is multiple really good mods that are coming out soon, as we're reaching the end of Terraria's lifespan tmodloader wouldn't have to keep up with these big updates therefor modders can work on their mods more often. I would say if you wanna hold off doing it you can without missing much content, especially with 1.5 right around the corner it would be a minute for tmod to catch up to 1.5

And on top of the usual buffs, I recommend feather fall too. It helps give you time to see where dark mages are so you can redirect midair

Note: i think rangers should use frost armor over titanium, the set bonus of titanium isn't really gonna be good for rangers since they always need to take a distance, frost armor provides frostburn inflicting ammo and 10% increase to ranged damage, so its better.

Also, I prefer using frost over hallow, the set bonus also ain't good, since rangers are kinda soft. So they prefer dodging instead. Hallowed armor provides 50 defense (no accessory buffs & potions and bast statues), frost armor provides 43 defense, (no accessory buffs, blah blah), but it provides more damage, so if you're good at dodging, choose frost and sacrifice 7 defense (you can literally drink a ironskin to gain 8 defense, bast for 5 defesnse, and food for more defense. So, frost armor wins.)

plus, melee has more diversity in weapons
it has spears, yoyos and boomerangs
