People tried telling me magic quiver only affects the damage of the ammo and not of bows or crossbows... They were wrong.

The 3 quiver variants are an amazing way to stack a massive amount of extra damage. Bow builds are insane.

The quiver buffs the weapons themselves, it's like the shroomite armor effect. Like seriously number go up is easy to see in the weapon tooltip

For the final weapon damage it should be:

Weapon damage* (1 + Ranged damage boost + quiver damage)* (1 + Ammo type boost) + Ammo's damage * (1 + Ranged damage boost) iirc

Although the wiki still regards the quiver the same as shroomite headpieces despite them becoming additive rather than multiplicative

Did some tests, gear: shroomite headgear, shroomtie breastplate, red riding leggings. Celestial shell, sniper scope, recon scope, destroyer emblem, ranger emblem, avenger emblem. Last two accessories will compare a quiver and the putrid scent. Rage, wrath, exquisitely stuffed, 7 menacing modifiers. Ichor arrows + phantasm. Target: moon lord (factoring defence + hp of each part in order to get a dps representative for the entire fight).

Results: Without the putrid scent/ quiver: 7046
quiver: 7386
putrid: 7490

If you want proof of accuracy, I've done something similar here when I was comparing ichor/ venom arrows, I included in-game kill times and they were near identical #1110729962325037056 message

3 block gaps are usually enough, corruption and crimson can grow thorns over the gaps so if you line the side with evil with a rope that will prevent the thorns from reaching over. You can also fill in the gap with block that cant be changed, like snow, bricks, granite, marble, wood. Basically anything thay isn't grass, mud, stone, ice, sane, or hardened sand.

You can stop hallow from spreading in a similar manner but it's less of an issue and doesn't cause your NPCs to leave their homes, infact some NPC like the hallow and there are some benefits to living in it.

Brain of confusion is generally overall better. Though the cross necklace may be better for lower skill players who can't quite get away from contact with bosses or enemies very well as the increased time between damage will help reduce the damage taken if you take many multiple hits in a row

There are also other options for defensive accessories to consider in early hard mode.

And i used the interaction between attack speed and daybreak to throw it super long range for the heart

Oh definitely since it's projectile fire rate is tied to melee speed and that increases it's DPS it's great for the fight. And it's the Daybreak range you extend with melee speed so it's great for long range safely taking out the heart.

Use animation and usetime are different in code which makes some of the boosts the gloves provide useless in most cases (terraria has a lot of dumb rules like this which aren’t explained)

Accessories with melee speed modifiers will only affect use animation, this affects how fast something swings (e.g. violent modifiers will make a pickaxe swing very fast but won’t increase the digging speed (but mining speed boosts will affect the usetime to actually make pickaxes dig more blocks per second)), equally melee speed from accessories and accessory modifiers will only change how fast your melee weapons swings (aka true melee hits) and not the number of projectiles created. This means that melee speed will only affect the velocity (how far/ fast the projectile travels) and dps will not be changed

Weapon modifiers are the only melee speed attribute that affects the use time (aka projectiles)

However there is special code for the blade of grass, nights edge, true nights edge and terrablade allowing use time to affect the number projectiles created but no other weapon works in this way, therefore with these specific weapons, even when fighting with projectiles alone the gloves are optimal (it will increase your dps + other aspects)

You can try the daybreak with/ without gloves, see if the extra velocity is needed, if not go for better damage accessories. If you're using the terrablade gloves are amazing

Could have killed them all at once but I had 0 modifiers and only a medium buff because I couldn't be bothered getting any better for the clip 💀 got a bit unlucky because a large chunk of the creepers on low hp returned to boc and flew to the other side missing the grenade

Bottled honey when drunk restores health + grants the honey buff, upon consumption potion sickness will be inflicted

However when you use quick buff button, only the honey buff will be granted (without restoring health or causing potion sickness) meaning you can drink a healing potion straight after

Regarding the 'increased natural heal rate acceleration by a factor of three', I calculated it to be around 7.5 without the vital crystal, 9 with, I'm not sure if I was doing it correctly + it depends on a a lot of factors so there is no 'correct' value

Ranger: 4 menacing, 3 lucky

Melee: full lucky due to the sharpening station + ichor flasks, a decrease in enemies defence benefits crit

Summoner: Full menacing for obvious reasons, the class cannot deal crit

Mage: Haven’t tested enough to say

If you use minions alongside another class, use full menacing

If you want survivabilty, use warding

I’d say dmg reduction for sure. If you want a dmg increase you’ll get more from using the right whips or just getting whip hits in general.

Other thing that if you build out accessories correctly you’ll get plenty of dmg from other places and can still hit tank levels of defense while Kaleidoscope still have 400 base and prisma having 200 base dmg.
