Well, Diamond staff, Desert Staff, Bloodmoon spell for Eater of Worlds. Could try to see if a waterbolt spawned close to the top of dungeon pre skeletron. If all else fails, wait till Traveling merchant Zapinator.

If you just need an eater of worlds kill, go down to hell and get Demon Spell.

Celestial shell is the second best accessory in the game

I disagree. I'd rather have a proper utility accessory there. The sort of "dips into everything" doesn't appeal to me, and has been less helpful than specific boosts.

Probably it's best effects are.. what, 10% damage and some defence?
And sure, that's on top of some other stuff, but in a position where you specifically want certain effects (eg, extra damage), something that benefits that directly will just always be better.

I'm going to go for a bit, but it's a really med accessory. It's not bad, there are a lot of bad accessories. It's just not great either.

I wasn't going for good, though. Little too positive imo. It's a fine accessory, but I wouldn't say it's good. I don't think Avenger Emblem is really "good," either , as a damage comparison. Destroyer Emblem is alright, little better.
Defencive options range greatly, generally 6+ def from Paladin's Shield + kb ignore is going to be better than a few extra points from shell. You can get menacing if you want to make up for damage. That's ignoring, of course, now-existant upgrades.

Shell has the widest array of benefits, but it's like picking Mythical on a summoning staff. You probably aren't using them all, and you might hardly notice

Granted, yes, I prefer Mythical modifier, but I understand that Ruthless is objectively better.

Its best application is melee classes for +10% melee speed (summoners get .5 extra kb, but generally that's not great 'cuz that can knock enemies into you), and unless you're building specifically for melee speed, it's better to go for emblems. On a side note about melee speed, most of the weapons that benefitted from it most either have a hidden multiplier against melee speed (0<mult<1), or don't fire projectiles every swing (because almost every hardmode melee weapon has a projectile attatched 🙄)
4 defence is fine, on par with Ankh Shield, but iirc damage variance exceeds that by the time you have access to it.
It's just not a great accessory. It's fine, I won't diss people that use it, but it's not for me, and it's not one I'm likely to recommend.

Yeah, I'm not saying it's useless, just that it's not super great. If you're unwilling to farm for potion ingredients, that's on you, I'm not going to punish that. Simply speaking, though, it's going to be better to do so -- such is the nature of potions of course.

it can be used to stop movement speed temporarily by enabling the mount and then disabling it quickly usually to prevent yourself from running into a projectile and since you can do it on command rather than requiring a potion you can do it at any time. though i also use more buff potions and some accessory effects show as buff slots but that is again on me

i enjoy playing with ridiculous builds and thats why i feel the way i do. used to hate the celestial shell myself tbf

I genuinely think Mana Flower's current effect should be reworked as a config option rather than as an accessory effect.
They gave us autofire/autoattack/autoreuse config, this is similar on a smaller scale. Like, yeah, you can click in time with your weapon or whatever, just like you can use mana potion in time with your weapon. Mana Flower should do something a bit more unique, its effect already exists as something the player can do and it's boring.

OOA/DD2 event enemies don't allow you to use solid tiles as a method of defence -- they will simply jump over or phase through.

If you mean background walls, those have no effect on the enemies, so they don't.. really matter?

This is both not how piercing works (penetrate = 1; on the projectile means it will break after hitting 1 enemy, a projectile with penetrate = 0; will break immediately. penetrate = 14 as your substitution for 14 pierce means it would hit 13 enemies, and break after hitting #14), and incorrect as far as I can tell seeing as the wiki says it has infinite piercing.

In source at Terraria.Projectile.SetDefaults(int) : void you will also see that the blade projectile itself (the big glowing thing around the player when you swing the sword) has penetrate = 3, and the ranged projectile (the beam that fires out from the player towards the cursor) is penetrate = -1.
Worth noting: penetrate < 0 will result in infinite piercing.

There aren't any keybinds on PC like there are on console/mobile to quick-use an arbitrary item. There are some baked-in ones for: (Light/Tool), Grapple, Mount, Health Potions, Mana Potions.
There is also a "quick buff" keybind which will just drink every buff potion for buffs you don't already have.

Trying to make my first ever mob farm, few questions:

• I checked the wiki for the spawn radius and made the whole thing 168x92 (83 to left/right, 46 up, 43 down, 2x3 for player)
• How wide should the kill zone be? I read 8 tiles so copper coins can burn
• How many chests?
• Should I make the border thicker because of the crimson?

Well for the chest situation i would have 2 chests for items youd keep, and then a few dump chests (depends really on how long you want to stay down there)

  That has to do with the depth of the lava (if you indeed choose to use it), not the width. I generally just do whatever I feel like while making the farm, but 6-8 is a fair range.
• How many chests?
  However many you want. I often don't run farms with any chests, you're generally not trying to keep every single item that can drop, but if you want to hold on to more stuff you can put however many you'd like. I would imagine this might change depending on the farm type, so for instance a generic caverns farm might hold more chests than truffle worm farm, just by virtue of there being more stuff that can be dropped.
• Should I make the border thicker because of the crimson?
  Probably doesn't matter? Thorns don't generate underground except in the case of crimtane jungle iirc, and the range on spread isn't too large. You can choose to make it larger if you want, I think it'd be easier to just make the outer tiles of your spawning platform non-corruptable (bricks, wood, glass, etc etc). Small impact on spawnrates probably, but will be much less effort than making a whole other layer or two outside of the farming chamber.

For Calamaity is it better to just grab like 3 summoner staffs or js choose one
cuz its my first run on calamity after completing the original game recently i've watched a guide which says to get Ancient Ice Chunk, Blade Staff and Black Hawk remote. Is it better to just choose one of the 3 and use a whip or choose all 3 and a whip?
