My problem was that as a summoner you want to stay safe distance and all but if ypu want to do damage you need to whip your enemy but the whips range is sometimes closer than some melee weapons and puts you in danger trying to use the whips

They should buff whip range that would help a lot I think

For me the best endgame setup is a 3 segmented Stardust Dragon and all the other slots be Terraprisma

Build a box underground, use any weapon that can attack through blocks and slowly kill the enemies as they walk above you. The only enemy that can travel through walls in this event is the Pirate's Curse, so swap to your main weapon whenever a Captain dies.

And spooky is mostly just better than tiki. You lose some whip range and defence, but you gain almost 30% summon damage and 20% movespeed.
