They are comparable for sure ranger always been consistently good since the start of game. Mage can feel like ranger with annoying mana limitations, but it has more variety in weapons that make it fun and it's also just super solid DPS at most stages of game. I guess if we compare, mage has variety over ranged

I wouldn't say ranger even got all that much of a buff? increased item stack buff affects mages too letting them carry more mana potions. Summoner is getting but that's because it was mostly ignored for almost a decade.

I don't fully disagree, but I don't fully agree, either.

While I agree that for most of the game, they are comparable, in the early and late stages of the game they far outclass mages.

I almost never touch the things, as their massive cool downs are quite prohibitive. I just find ways to circumvent or reduce mana costs

mana potions are only really restrictive in prehm since they don't give enough mana, once you get to super mana potions you should be fine to use them without much of a sinkhole (depending on the weapon)

Mage definitely has a weaker start, gotta farm stars and a good weapon is harder to make while ranger just makes wooden bow or just breaks an orb 😆. Once mage gets going it's good fun, but yeah probably weaker than range because of its limitations on mana but still has enough cool weapons and armor to keep it a different playstyle to be fun. I agree ranged definitely the more SOLID class

Depends on what metrics you mean for better I guess. Range gets a guaranteed caving weapon straight away while mage kinda RNG to find wand of spark or good gems

Phase 3 is just a pattern you have to get used to. Fly vertically mainly with little horizontal movement, and count 1 dash slow teleport, 2 dash slow teleport, 3 dash slow teleport... Then repeat back to 1... That's his dash pattern

Early HM is overwhelming me with weapon choices. Breaker Blade dropped from Wall, Amorok from first Ice Golem, Poison Staff from first spider, and Chain Guillotines from first evil mimic.

If you/the game chose corruption that ore will be demonite

If crimson, that ore will be crimtane

Regardless, the method of obtaining it is the same

You get ore from mining, from eoc, and from the evil biome boss (eow for corruption, boc for crimson)

The bars alone will let you craft a limited amount of stuff; to get the pickaxe and armor, you need an additional material that only drops from the evil boss (in the case of boc, his creepers have a chance to drop a few as well)

There's a mod, I think it's called Wirehead or something, makes wiring waaay more efficient. Shrek world would probably benefit from that

Yes I maintain a mod called WireShark. It an Terraria Circuit Preprocessing Accelerator. It will remove the lag 100%. Its required sadly due to the games horible logic system. It essentially takes a picture of the logic and preloads it before you load into the game. This way all potential logic paths are precaluclated. But, it maintains 100% vanilla circuity mechanics.
