Avoid contact damage at all costs, mobs HURT on contact more then anything else. Many hardmode bosses can one shot or two shot, so be ready. Also most mobs will chunk 80% of your health on contact hits.

In a way plantera is worse though, spawning wof is easy and constient, plantera on the other hand can take a while get a bulb to spawn, I'm trying to get the axe from her and killing her isn't even the problem, its getting spawners.

I have only been killed by one a hand full of times, melee is a great defense against them, I imagine other classes like ranger or mage would have a harder time since they can't just hold click and have a knockback shield generated around them at all times.
