I am assuming you both have restarted Terraria and your computers, I've had a similar problem and it work if the host summoned it, if that doesn't work you would have to uninstall the mods and reload then which you probably have, the only other option is to uninstall and then reinstall tmodloader itself, if you do it correctly, you should be able to keep your worlds and characters

Yes, but damage. One of the few damage accessories pre-Mech along with Ranger Emblem and Putrid Scent, so adding 3 Quivers on top of that makes bows rather appealing at that stage.
