mage use to be my favorite before they kept nerfing it into the floor ;/ meteor set only after EoW, BoC, tim's hat, nebula regen and collection rework, 2nd lowest armor values, melee & summoner consistently getting considerable buffs, & among other things, but those few things miffed me the most about mage, king has a point too. 50% damage reduction maxed from using too many mana pots is kinda huge, where as rangers only limit is how stacked ur on for ammo, need accessories that replace damage & DR , in order to sustain mana... ;/ Mage needs help as a class badly @outer crow

No I don't think there's a boss requirement for it. You can alt-f4 your world after receiving the rewards though, and reset for another try. If you don't want to wait for new days.

To not have to deal with Corruption you only have to:

Putting a shit ton of sunflowers at every pylon (a crap ton of sunflowers means the biome will never technically corrupt even if the blocks around are corrupted)

And Hellevators (3 wide, with something stopping grass from growing on the sides

just an extremely accessible summon that stays relevant , I don't have to go out of my way and grind for other summons when one does most jobs ;/ where as you can technically get unlucky with finch staff spawn in world gen and you need to grind flinx fur which can be challenging without decent gear on higher difficulties, where as your just able to grow a summon literally at start of game and can continue to scale and is able to go thrru one block walls which is extremely helpful for start at higher difficulties such as master or legendary ;/ It is just my opinion which I am entitled to and you do not have to necessarily agree with. So what? I personally like the weapon and I like having a ghost sister cross over with another game I enjoy. What I payed for on steam and I going play it my way, deal with it.

but spirit flame seems more for area control than the general-all-purpose staffs listed under "for twins or prime", and Crystal Storm just lacks a bit of range but is generally an amazing dispenser of medium range damage otherwise compared to like Crystal Serpent

at least it's mostly based on vibes I get from playing mage a while back

unless they buffed spirit flame not to my knowledge

I'd argue Spirit flame has less range than Crystal Storm

No. Meteor Staff has a high mana cost and low accuracy, and Spirit Flame has far greater base damage, built-in splash damage and homing, while the flames are summoned quickly. Even against Destroyer, the Life Drain is significantly stronger and almost cheesy.

Spirit Flame just works incredibly well for all 3 Mechs. Destroyer because splash, Twins because homing, Prime because homing and splash, on top of having high damage.

Outside of the sprinting, slightly increased flight time and very slightly increased speed over other running boots, it also has increased acceleration and deceleration, but not speed, on ice-like blocks. That's only part of the puzzle, though. Summon weapons cannot deal critical hits, the critical hit tag is a fixed rate, Terra Blade can hit both the slash and projectile, scales with melee speed, most melee armor sets grant higher direct damage bonuses than equivalent summon sets, and the projectile is large and easy to hit with.

I think if I'm going high armor setups that corruption is better, the worm scarf % is better with high armor where as the brain will help me on a low armor (mage/summoner) setup..... decisions decisions lol

Rainbow Slimes I've seen only spawn when it rains in the hollow, so they're a bit rare butthey do spawn
