I'd personally just build a 200x200 tile crystal farm and wait there

it's a bit hard to explain, if you're talking about bag system, but basically, if there's 8 possible drops from the Oasis Crate (as is the case), I want the game to always generate groups of 8 unique drops, then re-shuffle it and generate it for the 9th-16th opened crate and so on.
so at worst possible luck, you will only need 8 crates to get 1 conch, 16 crates to get two conch, etc.

Yes. You have ranged ammunition that you can fire endlessly without penalities as long as you don't run out, and you have mana that recharges endlessly, but you are either capped in the amount of attacks you can execute or the damage they deal.

That is also true. Sticking exclusively to weapons tagged with "magic damage," though, my experience has yielded better results in just using regen. Especially since if you're going for regen potions, you'll have most of the ingredients for magic power potions (and the other way 'round, as well), so they kind of work well together.

You could add double Necklaces if pre-Mech, Moon Stone if post-1 Mech and replace the set with Adamantite/Hallowed - Mystic - Forbidden and use Sanguine instead of Optic in pre-Mech.

I normally just find bulbs from anywhere in the jungle, and then bait it to the arena I built after breaking it, but if you want it to be more controlled, again, just make something like a crystal farm. lines of blocks spaced 3 tiles apart vertically (smallest amount of room possible that still allows your character to walk through between the lines, maybe build it 400 blocks long and 400 blocks tall?
theoretically, since bulbs generating will cause a 302x302 tile square around it to not spawn any more bulbs, this means that with enough time, there will always be at least 1 bulb in your farm. I think
