It depends on what weapon you're using and how much grinding you want to do for them. Hellfire Arrows are generally the most powerful, but require scouring the Underworld. Unholy Arrows are easier to get, but more situational since Jester's offers better crowd control and later arrows are better for single targets. The Aether is annoying to search for, but once you find it, getting Shimmer Arrows is incredibly easy and they offer the same base damage as Unholy.

Yes, but it should not be prioritized for DoT strategies. Frostbite and Cursed Inferno are more important damaging debuffs, and Venom later on is especially so.

It can be quite an effective strategy, though.

you can cleanse evil with purification powder and with the clentaminator loaded with green solution, but for the latter you have to buy it from the steampunker after killing 1 mech
if you want to slow the spread, you can make hellevators, basically long tunnels to hell that are at least 3 tiles wide
thorns still extend beyond the biome and can spread evil, so keep that in mind and put a bit of rope extending a bit above the surface on the evil side to prevent them

Do one thing. Make a long asphalt runway with teleporters on two ends. I'm assuming you're on normal mode so you don't have the flying insignia. Use any projectile weapon. I recommend using daybreak. You can craft daybreak at the ancient manipulator with solar fragments. Equip nice melee armour. Beetle armour or Valhalla knight Armor will do.
If you're playing ranged use shroomite armour and use the chain gun with chlorophyte bullets(homing) .
If you're a mage, you can craft four pieces of spectre armour and toggle your helmet depending on your health. I recommend using Razorblade typhoon, betsy's wrath, and golden shower.
I haven't played summoner yet so can't help

And really if you're playing melee don't forget to use an imbuement flask made in the imbuing station sold by the witch doctor

For melee accessories i think using fire gauntlet and celestial shell is a must

If playing Summoner, use Valhalla Knight armor (great survivability) or Spooky (high damage). Maybe Tiki for improved whip range since whips are hard to use in this fight. Minion used should be full Stardust Dragon.
