there is no public server browsing for terraria

for steam servers

but also a steam friend is a lot less malicious than giving them your whole ass IP

that's how port-forwarding works

you put your computer's local address into your router and then it allows access from the greater internet at a specific port number

there is no automatic function for changing your ip address baked into the server

steam multiplayer acts as a P2P service, kind of like hamachi but way better designed

for people who play video games

full-auto vs semi-auto has always been a defining characteristic since they've existed in real life and throughout all of gaming history. every game handles the difference very differently though, so it's not very useful to say auto-fire versus non-auto
