For sure. You just gotta make sure there are blocks all around the slime statue so that way it ensures you are hit continously.

Then I would definitely upgrade. The Titanium Sword has weak range and there are many boomerangs, flails, yoyos and other weapons with greater range and abilities. Some that come to mind are the Shadowflame Knife, Drippler Crippler, Dao of Pow, Flying Knife or Bananarang.

like lets say your mini shark does 10 dps and your demon scythe also does 10 dps. The minishark hits twice per second, doing 5 dmg each, and the demon scythe hits once per second, doing 10 dmg. If skeletron has 3 defense, he'll take (5-3) + (5-3) from the minishark, only taking 4 dps. With the demon scythe, he'll take (10-3), 7 dps.
