You can build chests for storaging, i believe you need wood/iron bar/chain

For the start of the game you want to explore the surface as much as you can aswell as dig down and explore underground as deep and as much as you can. You wanna look for chests, ores, gems, hearts, mob drops, anything that you can use. After you reach 200 HP, have more than 10 defense, and have 4 NPCs one of the first bosses of the game can randomly spawn at night.

To get more NPCs they need a house with background walls, a door, a chair, a table, and a light. And they each have spawning condition but you don't have to worry about that too much as you will naturally meet most of their spawning conditions as you find stuff.

I highly recommend fishing, a lot of the best stuff in the game is locked behind fishing. All the best potions are made with fish, some top tier accessories are gotten with fishing, you can get crates with money and materials in them, even crates with extra equipment from the biome you are fishing in. In hard mode you can get a couple of items that skip days

A good source of money early on is catching Squirrels, bunnies, and birds with a net then cooking them, they sell for a ton and you can catch like 100 critters in a single ingame day and make like 18 gold

Ok so, the brain of confusion has a chance to create an illusion and dodge an attack, it has a chance to confuse enemies and it increases critical strike chance after a dodge

Ankh shield is a beginner trap, sure it provides a nice chunk of defense and a ton of situational protection... But that's they key word "situational". You can use the slot for a more more generally beneficial defensive accessory or an offensive accessory.

The best whip and summon are dropped by Empress of Light, the whip just is a normal drop but the summon is the hardest weapon in the game to obtain

you can make a crimson biome by putting the dryad in a graveyard and she will sell crimson seeds, then you take some dirt down into the caverns and place it down and plant the seeds on it and let crimson spread

you could also build a containment box around where you want the crimson so it doesn't spread too far
