@half geode everyone has their own play style. If you are bored use the weapons as reserves for if you get stuck and you around with stuff you find and can make at your progress point. I dupe, doesn't make it any less fun for me. There are tons of other games I play, just saves me from wasting time searching for items. Helps a lot with building. You can try out all the weapons and gear and perfect a character build and then go to extreme mode. This game has Soo much playability it's crazy. If you're bored, you just need to find the right goal. Like start your journey to build the Zenith. Focus on making epic items, gear and weapons.
Having godly stuff off the bat isn't that bad of a thing, particularly if you are trying to get someone into the game that doesn't have the attention span for the slow start. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Find a way to play that works for You, and pursue it. Doesn't need to be how everyone else plays or how it's meant to be played. Some have fun getting twinked out and then just helping others. It is what it is.

@half geode not to mention all of the mechanical stuff you can do like teleporters and traps and switches. As well as MODs for the game. I personally would play through classic with the good gear. Kill every boss, every one, and get all the loot you want from each. You can unlock the tinkerer as well and use him to reforge the multiplier to Legendary, mystic, or ruthless. (Some don't have legendary), and outfit yourself in any other ways you may want. Then you can take your time in Extreme. And know what you are doing as well as feel that higher challenge. But again, every one has their own way and that's just one of mine.

And yeah like potatoes said, check your recycling bin and restore. Then I would find the Terraria folder, drag and drop your worlds and players to a different folder. Delete and reinstall game. Then drag them back to the new terraria folder. Screw the cloud.

@manic helm just giving suggestions. Unless they plan to lose themselves in the game. Won't hurt anything to have good gear. Hell could even say screw classic and just take the good gear over to an extreme world.
