i get all the buffs i can get before fighting
as far as the combat goes having an equip with dash helps alot for avoiding his charges it's hard to out run him so when he dashes change your direction fast as he is flying helps you avoid getting hit. for melee build i like to use the terra blade cuz it makes quick work of the sharks and bubbles he spawns. typically you want to fight him late game.

terrablade is epic but sucks if you havent been collecting throughout the game, the duke fishron flail is really good but u gotta take him out which sucks to do, other than that the influx waver from the martain madness event is technically the best weapon you can get dps wise last time i checked

megashark + ichor bullets and those teleport saferoom things work well with shroomite armor. and then turn on the wide cursor (the one that'll highlight the lever) so you don't have to move your mouse and then the only last key thing is don't let those blue rings hit you in the box or you'll have a tornado in your safety box
