Only White rarity items burn, and only if they're more than halfway submerged in lava, so just make a lava pool that's shallow enough for that not to happen

Notably, things like hearts, coins, a lot of vanity drops, and things like spooky wood are white rarity

Use the 72% damage reduction build.
45% damage reduction from defensive beetle armor
17% damage reduction from worm scarf
10% damage reduction from Endurance potions

Then use a terrablade with attack speed accessories and modifiers.

Combined with 90+ defense you should only take like 40 damage if you get hit, then if you can avoid getting hit for at least a few seconds the massive damage reduction comes back.

You don't need wings or boots if you use the Witch's Broom which can out speed the moonlord slightly and allows for a more stable flight so it's easier for you to aim.

When it gets down to his core use the daybreak made from solar fragments. Since it dead damage over time and explodes after a delay it's a great weapon for finishing the fight as you just fly away in 1 direction.
