get any weapon that gives off particle effects and run across the world until you see 1 tile gap going down. stuff like starfury and nightsedge are pretty good for this. lots of others too

most the time your world will have a sword shrine somewhere (small chance there is none). They never spawn on corruptions/jungles/snow so look in the inbetween bits of those, also never spawn near spawn (i forget how close to spawn, but needs to be a bit away)

They are about the same, brain of Cthulhu is considered a bit easier usually. But really besides the chests in the dungeon it doesn't matter because you can get both in any world of you buy the seeds for the other evil from the dryad in hardmode in a graveyard.

Crimson is also a bit easier to get into cause it has gently sloping tunnels into the underground part, while corruption has vertical shafts that are easy to die in for inexperienced players.

The cavern layer for fishing quests is up in where the underground layer normally is but it's all lava up there so you need to bring a bucket of water up with you and use the water dupe trick to make a pool. Preferably make it in a mushroom biome and put a pylon near it. So you can do cavern and mushroom quests easily @still sierra
