If you want to get like fully maxed out with it you gotta pay attention to what stat boosts you're getting from other things than just the modifiers on the accessories. For instance if your accessories and armor are giving you a lot of damage boost but not much crit chance boost maybe go for a few more Lucky and vice versa. But that's just me overcomplicating everything. Just follow @brittle shadow advice.

No, as soon as Hardmode starts a giant strip of both hallowed and evil appeared and you can’t stop it

When entering hardmode it makes a giant V shape with one part being the evil biome and the other hallow. Sadly, there is no way to prevent the areas this V converts. It converts all convertible blocks in the V skipping over anything not convertible (including air). But you can isolate the biomes pre-hardmode and then adjust it where needed after. Also, the V always has the starting point near the center of the map so the far ends of the map are never affected. I hope any of this answered your question.
