Nope. I'm not missing out on anything by not killing another 800 of that same enemy, except maybe letting my afk farm run for another 6 hours.
You could instead use these 6 hours doing more active stuff by simply trading for the item.

Its different to actively running around and killing enemies, which you can do if you want, but it has a slower amount of drops/time spent due to less optimal spawn conditions and constant enemy despawns.

Considering that enemies spawn around you, and you move around, that'll lead to enemies despawning, which is not optimal.
Meaning, you could stand still, which means enemies would not despawn that frequently, but you can't pick up all items. Which means you have to set up conveyors.
Which leaves us with the problem of how we trigger stationaty enemies ito their moving form so they walk forward so we can collect items from them. So, we add traps. Which leaves us with how we deal with biome mimics. So we build a biome mimic deflector.
Optimal farm rates are mutually exclusive to playing actively.
