Man, I just remember swords not being very good pre-mech. Bladetongue or Beam Sword, I guess. The best melee weapons pre-mech are the Shadowflame Knife, Bananarang and Sergeant United Shield.

They both achieve the same thing really, but yeah stinger necklase is the upgrade to sharktooth necklace so you would have it on instead. Just in that screenshot, I didn't. Bonehelm drops from deerclops and Bone glove from skeletron, just extra dps if you don't need the mobility items, they don't do that much extra but they're pretty much the only other damage accessory options at this point besides the ones i've shown there. The bottom accessory is 'white horseshoe balloon', cloud in bottle, balloon and horse shoe combined.
