Master mode should be an obstacle to overcome, a learning curve so to speak, overcoming a solar pillar that has enemies 1shot you is trial and error instead of learning and improving, no gear or knowledge will help you there, the game is simply not designed for something like this

The attacks of wall of flesh are fine enough, I dislike how much damage the hungry do at the end of the fight, the main issue for wof is how reliant on piercing damage it is, if you dont use the right weapons it gets ridiculously hard

I like that it forces you to run in 1 direction, most other bosses just follow the "circle around it" tactic, wall is the only one that denies that. Plus, it's just a good dps tester, serves its purpose as final prehardmode boss super well.
and another one, the acceleration at the end is always fun. I really love ftw wall of flesh because it forces you to use a fast mount to outspeed or to use ice blocks to outspeed

A lot of stuff works for ranger and mage. Summoner has 3 main minions and 2 whips and even the sentries. Only melee options are a bit limited but you can facetank in expert-

flying knife counting is kinda a hard carry for early hardmode and if you're lucky sergent shield hard carries too
