So I just today learned how to use images that don't have the same platen size as vanilla, which is yay but, would it be too much to ask for the game to check the size of xnb file for it's dimensions regarding resource packs? Because I want a larger size for an image, but I don't want to completely erase vanilla if I want to disable it later without having to replace the new xnb with the vanilla one, I thought I would have the new xnb file with the larger platen size, but with the default image in the middle, and have the resource pack replace that, don't work, much sadge.

i have no idea what it is, but i have the same issue with minecraft. i play about 2 weeks of minecraft and then i just forget about it, even if i play cool and interesting mods, but i keep coming back to terraria
have you tried playthrough modes? like pure melee only or ranger only or, if you love pain, mechanic only, or other such challenges? you could try figuring out a farm for your needs, be it mob potion or fishing.
if youre a builder, try building a few small but intricate and pretty npc houses if you haven't tried already, maybe take a look into some builders like khaios.
or try playing with 2 or three friends, multiplayer makes everything better.
