For weapons, crystal serpent is really good, it's rare tho. Biome mimic drops are also really good, but for bosses I'd go for longer range, so maybe not the mage weapons from the mimics
Daedalus stormbow is still really good despite the nerfs it got

If you've beaten the mechs you can get the steampunker npc to stay in a house and then buy a clenminator from her. after that it becomes pretty easy to cleanse the corruption temporarily. also the sunflowers block corruption spread as well so you can use em as a wall to stop it.
