the best way to dupe is to join a single player game put an item in a chest save it leave the game,
rejoin and take the item out of the chest then save and exit but before the game can completely save close terraria

#

makes it so the game registers that you took that item out but not that the item has been taken from the chest

if you're doing the method above never leave a valuable item in a chest before you close the game
