Nah the mechs are a big jump in difficulty. Lots of ppl get stuck on them. Twins got me for a good 3-4 days on my first play through.

Learning their movements, evading and good movement items help. My last play was as summoner on master. Everything kills you in 1 hit. So I had to learn to not get hit. Like ever lol

Anything that can't be shimmered will just be tossed back out. Throwing ores in it will eventually reduce them to stone or something but it's one way to get alternate ores if they didn't spawn on world generation
