ill just list off the best armor for each class pre hm snd you can decide what you want to get

melee - hell stone armor
mage - meteor armor/jungle
ranger - necro armor
summoner - obsidian outlaw armor

ok so you are right at the beginning

get lead/iron, silver/tungsten, or gold/plat armor depending on what mats you have

ok so go for the gold/plat

its the best of the prehm ore armors

they are the same

yea but thats in hardmode

oh was it ancient cobalt

thats the farmable version of the jungle armor

if you like magic, then yes

one thing to note about ancient armor is that it is interchangeable with normal versions

so you can have the ancient cobalt hat and have jungle chest and pants and still get the set bonus

armor sets are very powerful and is always good to go for

never have a mixed set of armor

but since you havent killed the eye yet, you can stick with plat armor for the moment

you are gonna want more defense than dps for this

and for weapons, you can use whatever you want, but ranged weapons are easier

so a plat/gold bow or diamond/ruby staff is really good

are you playing in a crimson or corruption world

basically red or purple evil biome

oh thought you would have come across it by now

it doesnt matter which one you pick, it just determines what weapons you can make

crimson is the harder one of the two and requires more work to get weapons and whatnot from

i was just gonna suggest what weapon you should use for the next boss
if you have crimson, use a flaming mace for aoe and the undertaker for single target
and for corruption, use the ball O' hurt for aoe and the musket for single target
the crimson cloud is also a good weapon for crimson and yoyo's for both are very powerful (artery for crimson, and malaise for corruption) and can be crafted after killing the eye

and as far as armor goes, you can stay on the plat armor for until you kill the biome boss and then you can craft the crimson armor/ shadow armor

and shadow armor does have an ancient version when killing eater of souls

alternately you can go for the jungle set and run magic weapons which is very strong

anyways sorry for the info dump but imma head to sleep now
