Well, to be honest I think you can still get about everything once you are in hardmode.

Cuz some of the stuff I got in prehardmode I can still obtain easily in phm. Ores still exist, chests that haven't been looted are still there. It's just terrain, mobs, bosses, and new ore generation I believe.
