You should fight the goblin invasion, its relatively easy and the "boss" that spawns in hardmode invasion drops some pretty good weapons to start hardmode with

And go into crimson/curroption and smash the alters with the pawn hammer then go mine the different ores that spawn

You'll want adamantite or titanium armor
