I was using the auto stack feature (it may be a new one) where you can deposit items “related” to eachither into surrounding chests. And for 25 hours of gameplay I did not notice it will bug out and delete items in a chest to fit new ones

Option 1, get a bunch of fallen stars, frost armor, and then the star cannon, and vaporized destroyer. Option 2 is build up, I believe it's 100-something blocks above the ground with nothing in between you and that platform, and then the destroyer cannot reach you.

If you're already in hard mode, good luck. I don't know what the six new ones added in 1.4.5 are, but I have not had any luck with getting any of them to spawn, although to be fair I haven't tried super hard except for the two in a graveyard which have some kind of spawn requirements that I do not know.

If you get to the point of only having those six left, using a 1.4.4 guide, you can figure out where they are located, and if memory serves it's two in the graveyard, two in the snow or underground snow and then I forget where the last two are. I think it's done, but don't quote me on that.

No, that is not one of the new ones, That's just a modification to skeletron unless the beastiary doesn't count it as a boss.

one thing I will say is collect pumpkin moon spawners because one of the enemies most people struggle with, especially if you're in hard mode, is the underground Halloween skeleton which can only spawn either during the Halloween event in October or for one in-game day after you get to wave 15 or higher on a pumpkin moon.
Also, if your world is corruption or crimson, you're going to need to get the other in your world because all of both world evil enemies count towards the bestiary.

With all of the changes made for summoner and the new summon modifiers I really don't think the removal of whip stacking is that big of a deal 🥀
Sure some of the new whips and maybe the snapthorn need some rebalancing imo because they're kind of pointless but I've been playing summoner for like three or four years now and the removal of stacking hasn't really affected me much thanks to all the new things lol
It was also kind of a pain trying to stack without messing up on controller

Well! Once all of the mechs are defeated you'll get a message directing you somewhere else and you'll be able to find new items that increase your health even further, but that's for later of course. 400 is what you get for now, unless you make a life force potion or whatever it's called

Destroyer is just a big worm. The only differences are that he doesn't break into segments and he creates drones when you damage segments, it'll help if you focus on the drones and have a couple solid block platforms scattered around
