Melee is leagues easier for their high defense and great damage output on enemies, ranger can be more difficult for the lack of good weapons in later hard mode and lower defense stat

I feel like melee is harder solely due to the fact that most of the high defense accessories require an immense amount of grind, and ranger has relatively high defense armor sets while still being able to run warding without losing much dps

I run all damage stats for my build with the accessories that I just prefer, defence is less than 100 and I do just fine, defence isn’t a priority and I always play master so it doesn’t matter anyway, I feel like most people play expert which isn’t much of a challenge

Well that's exactly my point, if you want full tank (which you sorta need for a majority of your dps) it takes an insane amount of grind

Compared to ranger just needing a few weapons that are all incredibly consistent

Especially since most of the cr accessories are post plant/golem

Any item of any value you have infinite of after you've gotten enough of them to research. So there is no chests anywhere apart from the naturally generated ones and that's the primary concern with griefing. And my current house is a hotel style which I could rebuild in all of 40 seconds if I felt the need.
