Set bonuses usually give you a massive damage bonus (up to 27000%) to one specific skill
So finding the right legendaries to increase the damage further and Altar the skill in you favor is quite important

Every single one of its segments fire a projectile

Melee will not work

Even if it has a range

Make sure you have all your accessories in warding, as well as best possible food, potions, and bast statue for even more defense. Projectile damage is the same on legendary as it is on master mode, so as long as you build into warding, you should be mostly fine. The big issue is contact damage, which will be much higher on legendary. If you haven’t fought king slime yet, I recommend doing so, and getting his mount, which will allow you to bounce on the eater if worlds to essentially avoid most contact damage.

Unfortunately, no you cannot block vile spit, the best you can do is reduce its damage via warding, potions, and bast statue.

At the best possible defense, you’ll basically halve the damage the spit does

Which is still good of course.

Also, I recommend fighting it on the surface instead of underground, as it will give you access to a lot more open area, making it easier to avoid the spit attack

Yeah that’s what I did my first playthrough and I beat moonlord not too difficult on a normal difficulty

Farmed old ones army lol

Good so what you need is 100 or more of a total flat area

And then you place the golden Altar at the middle of the flag area and then use the blue purple ish crystal you buy form tavernkeep to use it

During the event you will see small green crystals drop from enemies and they act as mana within the event only used with weapons that the tavernkeep sells
