Potions are always helpful. Get True Night’s edge / true Excalibur, depending on what you prefer.

Get some summons to do some extra damage, and some good accessories

Have your arena as a large column from the jungle surface to around halfway through cavern layer and fight the first phase of plantera while you are flying from bottom to top and fight the second phase on the way back down
