Alright, so to begin you want to make a flat platform of about three or five adjacent lines of platforms in the middle of the Underworld.

Get the Tiger Climbing Gear from Climbing Claws and Spikes in chests around the world that spawn naturally, then mix them in a Tinkerer's Workshop. I assume since you're looking to kill the WoF you have the firepower or strategy to kill off a Goblin Invasion and get the Goblin Tinkerer for your world inside the Dungeon. Buy off the Workshop, make the Climbing Gear. This comes in handy when you need to get up and down buildings but don't want to run the risk of sliding into lava pits.

For the WoF itself, you need to make a lava pit level with your platforms. When you kill the Guide Voodoo Doll, the WoF spawns level to where the doll despawns in the lava.

Utilize some sort of ranged weapon and a strong melee weapon. The ranged weapon will take out the hordes in front of the wall at a distance. The melee weapon, preferably the Night's Edge, will help with the eyes and mouth, the only damageable parts of the WoF.

The process of attack is this;

1. Go for the hordes that string off the WoF first. They get stronger as you attack the Wall itself, and that's bad news.
2. Then attack the eyes rather than the mouth once you clear the hordes. The eyes take extra damage, but get the mouth if that's the only part you can get.
3. If you get a distance away, leeches will worm around and strike. Kill those, they'll mostly give you useful hearts to survive further.

That's about all the useful advice I can give off the top of my head.

So to get the Night's Edge, you need 4 blades.

The first is the Murasama, and it usually spawns about one or two in a Dungeon. Get the gold keys to open chests from Dungeon Slimes.

The second is the Blade of Grass, it takes Jungle Spores and Stingers or Vines I believe from the Jungle

The third depends on your evil biomes, either you have the Corruption Sword or Crimson sword from Demonite or Crimtane Bars made at a furnace.

The last is the Fiery Great sword, which you craft with Helltane Bars. You get Helltane Bars from obsidian blocks and Hellstone blocks, about a 3:1 or 5:1 ratio of Hellstone:Obsidian to make one bar at a Hellforge all of which you get from the Underworld and when water hits lava is where you get the obsidian. Water can't survive well in the Underworld so get buckets of water on lava pools in the Deep Caverns.
