Had a similar problem with my i world with corruption, the proper way would be to dig tunnels wide 3-5 (with wood borders and no walls between so that if you miss any corrupt or crimson it doesnt spread to the all world again) all the way to rbottom and space them like 20 blocks each, then use the cleantaminator to purify

Or be like me and just destroy the crimson whenever it pops up where its unwanted, less practical, but much easier
