The only methods of control I have are either the remote control or a keyboard and mouse

However for some reason the game doesn't recognize any of the inputs from these controllers

I prefer ranger the most since in all the stages of the game, it provides a good variety of weapons and armor.

That isn't really a good question. Different classes (ranger,melee,mage,summoner) bring different benefits. Melee has good armour, but you have to be close to the enemy tanking hits. Range is a good balance, but its difficult for fast bosses. Summoner has awful armor, but you don't need to fight your enemys yourself. Mage is fun, has a combination of attacks from ranger and melee, but not 4eally good armour, and to max out the damage you can do you sacrafise movement accesories. Each class suits someone differently. Some are better for certain people
