Try using spelunker potions and mining potions. U can get them from chests or craft them
Here's how to craft: get some glass and make a bottle and place it. Then take a bottle of water and the ingredients (u can see ingredients from guide) and craft the mining and spelunker pots by going near the placed bottle

Also, don't go for tungsten armor, go directly for gold or platinum (whichever u hv in ur world) and craft their respective armor sets
