If you want a Low-Risk type of Playstyle, I highly recommend using Magic since Mana is the only requirement and it automatically regenerates, but if you want to use Melee, Ranged, or Summoning, I won’t be mad.
Melee is self-explaining, Ranged is Bows, Firearms, and even a Snowball Firing Cannon, and Summoning is just a ton of Minions that can actually boost any other Damage Type’s DPS, or Damage Per Second, and Magic, is Reliable, High Damage, and just plain fun! (Wand of Sparking sucks, though, see if you can snag a Water Bolt from a Dungeon or a Book of Skulls from Skeletron if you go for Magic.)

If you go for Magic, try to find the Snow Biome since the Dungeon, and by Extension, Skeletron, are on the same side of the map as the Snow Biome, more often than not outside of it, though.
Going too deep into the Dungeon before beating Skeletron is a bad idea, though, since a Dungeon Guardian spawns…

Elder Dragons are usually unfair fights in the Monster Hunter Games, ESPECIALLY Teostra. Velkhana and Nergigante are the only exceptions I’ve found, though, those fights are actually fun. And my favorite pet is actually something I can’t decide on, the Destroyer Lite is hilarious and looks awesome with the Black and White Dye, and King Slime’s is just adorable.

That is why you beat up Queen Bee before the Eye to get a Hornet Staff to have a minion that takes out any normal enemies that spawn during the fight because of a Blood Moon.

And if you have a Crimson World, once you beat WoF and smash some Altars or go fishing to get new Ores, go to the Underground Crimson and start going to town on some Ichor Stickers for Ichor to make a Magic Weapon that inflicts the Ichor Debuff, which makes the Shark Tooth Necklace pretty much useless.
