If you need to move massive amounts of water, buckets are a good option (or if you want to get fancy,you can use wires and pumps)
And if you don't get the Lava Wader boots, then you could instead use an obsidian skin potion and gain total immunity to fire for like 8 minutes or something
I usually find a lot of those potions in hell, so you should come across a couple in pots or chests in the houses
