Ranger sucks, because you have to gain materials just to get ammunition. Mage because of the mana thing, you'll either wait for it or just use Mana Flower or other variants but you'll get Mana Sickness debuff which will reduce your damage by alot. Summoner because of how dumb the summons are, but whips made them viable, they still scoop tons of damage if used right but the defense they have isn't just worth it. Melee doesn't need any ammunition or mana shit, you can be tanky if you want, or full damage but still keep a bit of your tankiness. Melee has alot of possibilities other than these three who can only focus on damage
