so, mobile is finicky, as it only allows local, or server play. cant join a locally hosted world. the work around is to start a world using something called tshock
at the same time. mobile users can join any pc hosted world as far as i can tell.

Not at all? If you have fall damage prevention you can just use a piercing weapon and take a good chunk of it's health while falling down and finish on land. A feather fall potion can be pretty good too.
Personally I'll just fight on sky islands and dash side to side to dodge it's charges

Well, I'd recommend using piercing weapon, and if you still have trouble even with all the best pre mech stuff, I'd advise on using short range Teleporters or/and making a big safe box on or near the sky (so you can bait it there), so that you can fight the wyvern much Better.

I SWEAR CRIMSON IS BETTER FOR MOBILE. the corrupt caverns are in the surface level, well it's RIGHT ABOVE IT, making it hard to farm souls... and the FPS is also better for crimson... oh yea... This was what i did on my first run , but for almost all bosses i used a ranged weapon
Beenades, deadalus bow , onyx gun , mini shark early on
Most efficent is definetly melee gearing with ranged guns even tho lacking dps taking the hits well is important in mobile since controls are bit hard

Ngl range is the most consistent class throughout everything imo. Mage deal decent damage and summoner is pretty good especially after post plantera
