The other benefits i found for making plantera arena is that you get life fruits

Digging top to bottom in sections (not the entire top row at once but parts) seems to help with keeping blocks between you and mobs

I just dug a 6 block gap on both walls on each and every room in the obsidian and hellstone towers

They still kinda block ammo and stuff unless you actually try to aim but all it takes is one journey to each side and voila

Its ready for wof

It only really works if you’ve got water walking and obsidian skin potions or terraspark boots or any combination to protect you from accidents

But its a low effort solution that works

The terrain dont always offer smoothness for you

Thus why building arena is more promising

If you can go through any building with ease, it doesn’t

If there’s a part where the top and bottom get close and no buildings around, just mine that out

This is how it generally looks for mine, any non submerged rooms have their walls mined

Just gotta be mindful about when you’re approaching buildings and to fly up when u get near

It matters bcs the terrain. Its matter also bcs its better to run straight then unpredictably. Plus as ranger or mage you rely on projectile thus having an arena for WoF is pretty helpful

This can't be disabled, but you can still make the world pause whenever you open the inventory, like in older versions

This autopause feature is ignored in multiplayer however

I haven't done any mage playthrough but as what i experienced post-plantera and post-moonlord, the mage class is lacking alot in dmg

They're just ranger that don't use bullets but have lower dps

It's sort of a glass cannon class

Mage has a really good damage potential if you swap weapons constantly

For example, I got that frost staff, tome of cursed flames, shadowflame hexdoll and venom staff

Others tempted to speedrun boss but as long as i am there, I wouldn't let it lol. We play together and i think we should wait for others too

If I attack with one of those then swap to the next regularly, I can maintain 4 dot debuffs at once

I wish i could disable the sniper scope and rifle camera movement

And just use them as damage boosting gear and a regular gun

Their “increased gun range” is more of a con than a pro

I can’t try to aim at anything without my camera moving in some direction, it has horrible interactions with the inventory like for example it forcing you to interact with an npc if you spawn near one or smth, making interacting with npcs a pita (i even got stuck in my inventory once until i removed those scope gear pieces)

Really, its a poor design for an item, especially on mobile

You should be able to disable the camera movement in the video settings

It depends on the situation you r in. For solo, its a pain in the ahh since the camera easily changing direction while the boss is targeting you. Therefore having fast speed or a good mount to outrun the boss will be great option

But then there is multiplayer. This one is actually great in multiplayer as ranger dont need to tank or lure the enemy. The team tanker could just do that job while the ranger with recon scope just chillin and aim without even needing to get closer

Unlike mage and even worse, summoner

A great advantage of this is also its great way to use chlorophyte bullets to prevent waste and the bullets auto-seeking cover the scope annoying ability

Oh and a little knowledge, the scope also increases your view even tho you think it increases when you aim but no. When you equip it, your view will increase regardless. Resulting the enemy to spawn even further from your location.

This can be good and bad

well you could try both of them on plantera because both are easy to get

a lot of weapons have misleading base damage values due to being balanced around shooting faster or having homing

so usually try not to take the listed value in the tooltip at face value

as for the viability of the Claymore itself, it really isn't anything special, if you do want any of the Chlorophyte weapons, the Partisan is the best one in terms of Melee

but yea, it still doesn't compete with True Excalibur in terms of ease of usage and damage consistency

if you want something for keeping your distance, Yelets or Light Disc tends to be what i'd recommend at this point

For expert mode, that method works very well. For classic, just use minecart, plantera is the weakest boss in Hardmode. For master, do the thing i did in that arena video

You need at least an arena for almost every boss in master mode

Maybe your luck is busted for this one. In classic mode the drop chance is 10%+ lower than expert or above mode

The zoom activates closer to the middle than with the gun

I’m on the pillars in my world now, replaced the chain gun in my hotbar because its essentially a weaker vortex beater in some ways

Yk I’m not even using the full shroomite armour, only piece i am using is the gun helmet

The rest is the old ones army post golem armour

I dislike the stealth effect of shroomite armour, i like to see my character

Too bad the red riding hood helmet is worse than the shroomite ones, and the set effect is not enough to give up the 5% extra damage, since explosive traps just aren’t great vs most bosses as they tend to not get too close to the ground

an extra 15% of chlorophite’s damage is a measly number not worth missing
