they are not related to each other, but yea, the world being changed into Hardmode taxes a lot on processing power, due to it needing to change a significant amount of blocks, so it lagging isn't an uncommon occurance on lower end devices
and gets especially worse on larger world sizes

So the Higher the number, the More liquids are moving-> depending on your Phone even lower fps

Those biomes can be quarantined by making a 3 tiles gap

If no thorns grow. Those spread it if near blocks not immune to infection

My favorite method is making a box around an area with this 3 tiles wide gap, either to keep the biome in or out, using sticky bombs on the vertical portions and scarab bombs on the horizontals

Also, make sure the background walls also follow that 3 tiles rule, they may also spread the biomes I think

Bombs usually deal with this naturally, so it's not a big deal

To prevent thorns from reaching out, build layers of non infectable blocks around the infected blocks (any wood block, stone slab, glass for example)

I made it 6 tiles wide because I wanted to be able to get in it, but 3 is enough to prevent the spread

I also placed background walls all over it to prevent mobs from spawning in there and getting stuck
