Every time it says connection time out is because the ip or port is wrong or some of you don't have wifi on or just didn't log in time or it could be anything else

You and ur friend should both try for example he does the host and u do the online search with his ip. Or you do the host give him the ip and then he tries the same

Just make sure yall using wifi it doesn't have to be the same network oblirated

But the easiest way is if you both are in the same place using the same network

Duke is kinda controversial tbh. It has no progression restrictions once hardmode is enabled, but it's too difficult to beat that early on. Whether it's okay or not to fight him at this point in the game, will depend on your skill

I prefer to beat it post plantera if ranger and post golem if melee

I don't do mage or summoner, so idk how to handle him with those classes
