Easiest way Ive found is finding a map you want from curseforge.com

Make sure it's showing the desktop site so you can download it.

Once it's downloaded, you need something to view/move files, and possibly unzip them. I use winzip

From there, you find the file in your downloads and move it to Andriod>data>Terraria> worlds

If you're on Apple, move it to wherever app data is stored, where your worlds and saves are. Note: you can make another backup of your stuff by copying these files elsewhere.

If you cannot see or access the folders inside the Terraria app (which btw usually has 505Games in the name of the main folder), check to see if your phone allows you to see and modify app files. If so, you'll need to use a computer to access that file path and add things to it. I've had limited success with this, however.
