I’ll just try to explain

“Reforging” is a feature from the goblin tinkerer, it grants random buffs to your weapons and accessories, and it costs you money.
I recommend getting warding on your accessories to tank skeleton better

For what potions you should get:
Ironskin potion is a good start
Swiftness is also good
Idk what else I’m not used to pre-hardmode

If you want to craft potions, you place a glass bottle on a platform

If you want to know the recipes you should open the wiki

Goblin tinkerer also sells rocket boots which allows you to fly, and he also sells his workshop, which lets you combine accessories, it will be very useful

Also if you hadn’t you should **at least **place star lanterns and campfire to grant you buffs during the fight
