Basically:

Wedge - special for getting ball high in air to for example get out of the tricky hole (ex: bunker). High altitude but low horizontal velocity
Putter - finishing club. Lightest of all. For precise maneuvering. Basically used when the ball is just few meters from hole. No altitude and little horizontal velocity

(Mobile needs a better online multiplayer system)

ZeroTier requires an app + a site, and effort from both host and those joining. Get on browser zerotier and make an account. The host should create a server but everyone else can leave the browser after that. Next everyone gets the “ZeroTier one” app and puts in the network ID that browser gave the host. Everyone flips the switch on app (and allows the vpn), then the host can go to browser and authorize each person. After that, the host can get on the game with local multi and anyone who is joining does it online and puts host’s managed ip as the world. Port is always gonna be 7777. ZeroTier doesn’t take inputting world files which may be less annoying than other methods. Works very well unless 4+ people

You can also use hostfactor.io if you’re fine with annoying tshock settings and having to upload world files manually. Serverpro/skynode make you reset every 1-2 hours while hostfactor just has a certain amount of storage so there’s no need for those

Mobile is a little scuffed with the controls, as long as you don't have big hands, it should be a-ok

Just a big note that mobile don't have mods. Other than that, it's enjoyable like on PC and can even join PC servers (that is not modded)
