Blade/sanguine/optic

blade is best for skeletron prime, whip combo should be cool whip + spinal tap (+snapthorn). If you’ve beaten a mech then it’s durendal + cool whip (+spinal tap + snapthorn).

sanguine is annoying to get and worse than blade, but less effort with whips. Combo would be firecracker + snapthorn/spinal tap, then after a mech it’s firecracker + durendal

Spider staff (cool whip + spinal tap or firecracker + snapthorn) can be used to beat twins though blade/sanguine is faster. Whichever you choose, beating twins for optic staff is very helpful for destroyer. Optic whip combo is the same as sanguine

other recommendations: spider armor, Pygmy necklace, summoner emblem, berserker glove, bewitching table, summoning potion, ichor flask

You can aim to find finch staff in surface chests, and if you find an orange flower near a grave (somewhere you died) that’s a summon weapon (Abigail) if you break it with a pickaxe. For whips you can go straight to the jungle to craft snapthorn but if it’s too hard you can try to get zoologist npc and buy her whip to make stuff easier. For armor you use whatever hat/leggings give the best defense and aim to craft flinx fur coat for chestplate slot. Also crafted with similar materials is flinx staff minion which is better than finch/Abigail

First thing I did was got finch and ran to farm in ice biome for flinx stuff

durendal is better damage. If you’re using blade you absolutely want more than one whip. For every summon it’s very useful though. You use one whip to get its tag bonus, then switch to another whip for its tag bonus (if you have a 2nd support whip), then switch to main whip until the other bonuses run out
