Life drain is not a healing weapon, it’s a premech crowd control weapon. And it’s broken for destroyer and pirates . At the dtage you have spectre armor you replaced it but still very strong from destroyer to plant. Also even if it did heal you would be able to use life drain with spectre for even more healing

and also, spectre hood should absolutely not be your default
