are you standing in the area with the slab walls

if it’s small enough, that’s the problem. Enemies spawn offscreen so their spawns will depend on the wall of the area they spawn in rather than where you are. So standing in it doesn’t change anything if there’s tiled walls nearby that they’re spawning on

It depends on your playthrough which npcs need to be happy, and some won’t give any real benefit to making them happy

It lowers shop prices but most npcs you won’t buy from often

You’ll want Goblin happy. For that I’d recommend putting him in ice biome with mechanic

There are a few exceptions that we made for certain tools like the money trough to prevent them from breaking, but otherwise it impacts everything you would want it to impact
